Fraunhofer Competence Network Quantum Computing

The nationwide Competence Network aims to advance the key technology of quantum computing in Germany. This involves developing new technological solutions as well as quantum-based computing strategies for problems in applied, business-relevant areas. 

At the heart of the Competence Network is an open research platform based around an IBM Q System One quantum computer. This is installed in the town of Ehningen in the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg for exclusive use by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and its partners. The quantum computer is operated under German legislation, which is an important advantage for users in terms of data protection and IP security.
